Lambkin’ – Notre Dame’s wandering lamb

Based on the Advent story ‘THE CHRISTMAS MYSTERY’ by  Norwegian writer Jostein Gardner, the story focuses on the journey of a little girl, Elisabet, who chases a lamb back down through the centuries until the first Christmas Day in Bethlehem.

Starting on the 1st December in Norway, each day charts the progress of Elisabet, Lambkin and an angel.  Each day a new pilgrim, a character from the Christmas Story, joins the group.

Notre Dame’s own ‘Lambkin ‘ mysteriously appeared in the school several years ago, and throughout the month of December can be found in various areas of the building. But just like the Lambkin in the story,  it always finds its way to the Nativity Scene  - just in time for the end of term Carol Service.
